Sapphire Gaming is a slot game developer combining smart maths and stunning graphics to create unique gambling experiences.

They approached us in 2019 at a Silicon Pond startup event for support in creating a standout brand that could help them secure further investment and launch their first games.

CHALLENGE

Despite market growth in online slots, the games themselves have hardly changed in the last five years. Sapphire Gaming wanted to change that, but needed £200,000 in funding to release their first game, grow their team and secure a large platform provider.

STRATEGY

We kicked off our 12 week MVB programme by getting together with Sapphire’s founding team to better understand their competition, target audiences and market. During our initial workshops, we used this information as stimulus to get to the core of their shared vision and align their thinking. Taking this feedback away, we began to explore the potential narratives their business could use, refining it down to a single proposition that could inform their brand identity.

Revolutionise to disrupt

PLAY THE REVOLUTION

During our workshops, it became clear that the Sapphire Gaming team wanted to address the stagnancy in slot game design. They were artists, techies, risk-takers and rule-breakers looking to create innovative slot games that players really wanted to play. From this, our ‘Play the revolution’ proposition was born.

We built a unique and disruptive brand identity using a premium black palette with highlights of sapphire blue to stand out from the competition, and introduced a reel graphic that highlighted the evolution fundamental to their product offering. Along with developing the identity, we designed and built a website integral to explaining the business and seeking new investment, and an engaging investor deck.
